Virtual Machines
- Register your SQL Server on Azure VMs self-installations with Resource Provider
- Benefit from Resource Provider registration when self-installing SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machine
- Hybrid BenefitとかでSQL Serverを持ち込むときにVMのSQL Serverなリソースプロバイダーを使ってAzure上で管理しやすくしたりする話。
Virtual Network
- Monitor bandwidth useage for all peered Azure virtual networks with ExpressRoute
- Network Performance MonitorでVNETの全ピアリングのExpressRouteの帯域使用量をモニターできるようになりました。
- あとNetwork Watcherの利用可能リージョンが増えました。
Cosmos DB
- Azure Cosmos DB recommendations keep you on the right track
- SDKのバージョンアップや固定⇒パーティションコンテナーへの移行などAzure AdvisorやポータルのCosmos DBのブレードで推奨事項が表示されるようになりました。
- 今後はパーティショニングやインデクシングなどに対してもレコメンドできるように拡大していくらしいです。
Azure Storage
- Introducing cost-effective increment snapshots of Azure managed disks in preview
- Azure Managed Disks（VM関連のほうでもよかった気がする）で増分スナップショットが利用可能になりました。（Preview）
- 取得した増分スナップショットはZRS上のStandardなHDDに保存されるみたいですね。
- Previewなので利用できるリージョンはまだWest CEntral USだけみたいですが。ちゃんと利用できるようになればManaged Disksのバックアップやそこからの復元の使い勝手がよくなりそうです。
Azure Data Factory
- Azure Data Factory now supports copying data into Azure Database for MySQL
- Data Factory supports copying data into Azure Database for PostgreSQL
- CopyアクティビティでDatabase for MySQL/PostgreSQLからのデータコピーをサポート。
- Copy Activity in Azure Data Factory supports creating a destination table automatically
- Copyアクティビティでオンプレからのコピー時に宛先テーブルが無い場合に自動的に作成できるようになりました。（取り込み後、同期テーブルスキーマを確認・調整できるらしい）
- SQL DatabaseやManaged Instance、SQL Data Warehouse、SQL Serverのみ。今のところ。
- Just Shipped: Use Azure Data Factory command activity to run Azure Data Explorer control commands
- Data Explorer CommandアクティビティでData Explorerの制御コマンド（Kusto）を実行できます。
Cognitive Services
- Public Preview: Computer Vision releasing ‘Read’ text extraction feature in containers
- Computer Visionのテキスト抽出がDockerコンテナーで実行できるようになりました（Preview）。今後はRecognizeTextがComputer VisionのReadに置き換えられるということで、RecognizeTextは10月4日に廃止予定です。
Azure Analysis Services
- Azure Analysis Services—Two new higher compute SKUs are now available
- 新しくS8v2とS9v2が利用可能になりました。既存のS8/S9の2倍のQPUらしいです。
Azure Scheduler
- Extending the retirement date for Scheduler to December 31, 2019
- 1年まにはアナウンスされていましたが9末で廃止ですよ。10月末にはAzureポータルからも削除されます。
- Logic Appsへ移行しましょう。

- Azure provides at-scale tags management through Azure Policy
- Azure Policyを使って組織全体など大規模なタグ管理ができるようになってます。タグの自動的な適用だけでなく継承や置換・削除などなど。
